Actors’ Forums

As part of Fight2Flight’s residency at Smock Alley Theatre for 2020/2021, company artistic director Peter Gowen led a series of open forums, addressing the difficulties of life as a working actor. These forums were created to allow actors to discuss the problems they face throughout their careers, with the hope that any issues can be recognised and resolved. The forums were hosted by a team of moderators including David Herlihy, Pauline McLynn and Marion O’Dwyer.

The Arts Council of Ireland generously funded a series of ten forums through the Capacity Building Award Scheme. ACTORS’ FRIDAY FORUMS have two main objectives: Developing Collaborations & Connections and Developing Capacity for Inclusion. Presented by Fight2Flight in collaboration with Smock Alley and with Irish Theatre Institute’s ACCELERATE Programme funded by Rethink Ireland.
